We are honored to be somewhat of ambassadors for the Reddy2Fight Foundation throughout our trip around the states. This foundation is near and dear to our hearts as the inspiration for the foundation is our very best friend, Krissy Reddy's, beautiful and bubbly son Liam. A bit of a more in depth description about the foundation can be found on one of our previous blogs, Our Little Superhero.
We put together a video for the foundation detailing their mission and what their vision is. It also shows some care package recipients and also behind the scenes details of how the gifts come together.
As September is Childhood cancer awareness month, we though this would be the best time to release the video. Enjoy!
While we were visiting Phoenix Arizona we met with Treyson and his mother, Kristine.
A quick summary of Treyson's story... March 2010 he was first diagnosed with ALL Leukemia. He went through 3.5 yrs of chemo and finished up chemo in August of 2013. He was in remission & chemo-free for a year when August 17th 2014, one side of Trey's face swelled up.
Thinking it could be a tooth infection, his mother took him to Phoenix Children's Hospital. After examining him, a few ultrasounds & blood work there was concern that his cancer had relapsed. After exploring many options, a transplant is their best shot. There are many added complications that may arise during this process because of his Down Syndrome, but the family is confident of his recovery following this process.
He will begin the transplant process this fall and you are able to follow his progress through his Facebook page, Treyson's Troops.
While we were traveling from Nashville to New Orleans we had the pleasure of meeting Kate Miller, her rambunctious siblings and her loving parents in Huntsville, Alabama.
Kate Miller was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia in 2013 and will be completing her Chemotherapy treatments this fall. Her family is finalizing a non-profit in her name this year. Follow her page Prayers for Kate Miller on Facebook for the progress in her fight and the upcoming details on the foundation.
You are able to follow the link at the top of the page to the Reddy2Fight Foundation page!
Thanks. Always,
